Title of the project (LDI): A Study of low-density malaria parasite infection in community and its transmission potential in Bareilly District, Uttar Pradesh in India
Summary:
India is planning to eradicate malaria by 2030. Low density malaria parasite infection is one of the important determinants of the malaria in the country. Currently there are very few studies across India reporting the prevalence of Low-density malaria parasite infection in the country. The objective of the study is to identify the prevalence of low-density malaria parasite infection including the sub-microscopic and asymptomatic malaria including molecular methods apart form the routine testing methods like microscopy and rapid antigen testing. The study also focuses to study the trend of malaria over the study period. The proposed study area is Bareilly District of Uttar Pradesh.
